Evan Rachel Wood
Evan Rachel Wood was conceived in
Raleigh, North Carolina on September 7 1987. Her father, Ira David Wood III (a
theatre actor, writer, director) is her father. Sara Wood Wood is her mother,
as well as an actress. Her older brothers are Dana Wood, a musician and Ira
David Wood IV who have also been actors. Evan and her brothers performed in the
Theatre In The Park, Raleigh, where her father is the executive director. At
the age of five she auditioned against Kirsten Dunst to play the lead part in
Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) following a lengthy
audition process. In 1996, she moved to Los Angeles along with her brother Ira
and mother. She has been a prominent character in TV series, feature films, and
TV movies since. She was in Practical Magic (1998) as well as in the comedy
S1m0ne (2002) as the daughter of Al Pacino, and followed that with Thirteen
(2003) in which she starred alongside Holly Hunter. Her role as Tracy in
"Thirteen" earned her a Golden Globes nomination for Best Performance
by an actress in a Motion Picture: Drama and for a Screen Actors Guild Award
nomination for Outstanding Performance by Female Actress in an Leading Role.
When she received the award from SAG, she was the youngest actress to be
nominated in the Leading Role category. Her performance in the role of Veda
Pierce in the HBO mini-series Mildred Pierce (2011) brought her an Emmy
nomination and an Emmy nomination and a Golden Globe award. She also earned
acclaim for her impressive performance as Stephanie, Mickey Rourke's estranged
daughter, in Darren Aronsofsky's The Wrestler (2008). Sara Wood and Ira David
Wood III are her parents. The younger sister to Ira David Wood IV and Dana
Wood. Dancer. She is a lover of dancing and sing, as well as rollblade and
horseback ride. She holds the black belt in tae kwon-do. She keeps in touch
with many of her Once and Again (1999 castmates: Mischa Barrton, Julia Whelan
and Shane West.
