Rachel Anne McAdams
Rachel Anne McAdams was born on 17
November 1978, in London, Ontario, Canada she was the daughter of Sandra Kay
(Gale), Nurse, and Lance Frederick McAdams who is an auto driver and furniture
moving company. She is English--, Welsh-, Irish--, and Scottish. Rachel began
her acting career in her teens and by 13 she was starring in Shakespearean
productions at summer theater camp. She later graduated with honors with a BFA
degree in theater from York University. After her debut on the episode of
Disney's The Famous Jett Jackson (1998), she co-starred in the Canadian
television show Slings and Arrows (2003), a comedy-drama about the trials and
travails of an Shakespearean theater troupe, and won an award called a Gemini
award for her performance in 2003.Her performance in the role of Regina George
in the hit comedy Mean Girls (2004) instantly made her a part of the short list
of Hollywood's most sought-after young actors. She followed that film with the
role of a major character opposite Ryan Gosling in the adaptation of the
Nicholas Sparks bestseller The Notebook (2004) that was a surprise box office
hit and quickly became the main romantic drama for the new, young generation of
moviegoers. McAdams met Gosling while filming. They began dating until
mid-2007. McAdams and Gosling were soon in a relationship and started to date.
McAdams was also seen in The Lucky Ones (2007) and State of Play (2008) and
State of Play (2008), respectively. McAdams also appeared in The Time
Traveler's Wife(2009) and Robert Downey Jr. in Guy Ritchie's international hit
Sherlock Holmes (2009). McAdams was the determined producer of a failed morning
television show in Morning Glory (2010), the attractive fiancee of Owen Wilson
in Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris (2011), and returned to romantic drama in
the critically acclaimed film The Vow (2012) opposite Channing Tatum. McAdams
also appears alongside Ben Affleck in Terrence Malick's To the Wonder (2012)
and also alongside Noomi Rapace in Brian De Palma's thriller Passion (2012).In
2005, McAdams received ShoWest's "Supporting Actress of the Year"
Award in addition to the "Breakthrough Actress of the Year" at the
Hollywood Film Awards
