Marcia Harvey
Marcia Harvey is an African-American
writer, best known as the ex-wife of the comedic legend and television host
Steve Harvey. She decided to keep her personal life private and out of the
spotlight. Steve has not been able to enjoy the fame he is currently enjoying,
yet they were married for 14 years. It's not clear what led to the breakup, but
Hollywood has heard of rumors about it. Some people believe it was because of
Steve Harvey's cheating ways and others believe it was due to his choice to pursue
comedy as a career. Her tragic life is attributed to Steve's abandonment of her
and her two daughters when she was pregnant with her third baby. Despite all
the challenges she managed to make a successful career as a fashion designer
and writer. She is the writer of
Marcia's Eyes To The Soul, 'Marcia's Poems From The Heart, and Marcia's
Thoughts From The Heart. Her children are influenced by her generosity and
kindness. Marcia Harvey was born to an African-American family. They weren't
wealthy. She began her career with Saks Fifth Avenue, a department store. Steve
was introduced to her at a wedding reception for a friend of a mutual
acquaintance a couple of years later. They fell in love, and they got married
in the year 1980. Steve was employed as an insurance salesman at that time and
the couple were blessed with twin daughters in 1982. Steve was disillusioned
with his job and wanted to become an entertainer, especially stand-up comedy.
Marcia and Steve were in a lot of conflict and reports later suggested that
they were beginning to break up. Much of the fame that Marcia Harvey enjoyed
resulted from her marriage to Steve Harvey and her divorce from Steve Harvey.
Although the facts leading to their divorce in 1994 are mostly kept a secret
however, it is clear that Marcia was pregnant with their third child. This was
the point at which things fell apart. Marcia finally filed for divorce in 1993.
Marcia was forced to seek the court after her divorce as well as Steve Harvey's
denial of the child support and alimony payment.
